| Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sister Jean
graduated from Le Moyne College with a BA in English. Later she received
an M.Ed. in guidance and counseling from Loyola University in Los Angeles.
She also has a Certificate in Spiritual Studies from Milltown Institute of Spirituality
in Dublin, Ireland. As a Columban Sister, Sister Jean taught junior high for nine-teen years in Los Angeles and Chicago; she has also coached boys' CYO baseball and basketball and directed parish and school choirs. For nine years she was the Youth Club Moderator at the Korean Catholic Center in Chicago, and assisted in giving the teenagers their annual retreats. She has given mission appeals for her Congregation over the eastern half of the United States and, in Buffalo, worked for two years in the Propagation of the Faith Office. This is her third year on the Parish Renewal Team with Father Vasek. | ![]() |

Father Vasek, who was born in Piqua, Ohio, grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Entering the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, he received a M.A degree in theology
from Oblate College, Washington, DC, where he was ordained in 1971. Since ordination, Father Vasek has participated in a variety of ministries, which include fifteen years of parish ministry (three as pastor), four years in high school ministry, one year of sabbatical studies in the Holy Land and and Notre Dame University, and three years of preaching missions on Diocesan Evangelization Team in the Diocese of Allentown, PA. Since July of 1995, Father Vasek has resided in the Oblate Community at Holy Angels Rectory and has continued this ministry of parish renewal with Sister Joan Daly, GNSH until June of 1999, and with Sister Jean Fitzpatrick, SSC from September 1999 until the present. |
